Fortitude Fitness has a rich history in supporting people from all walks of life in overcoming personal adversity. Originally starting out in 2013 as a group of fitness experts, personal training specialists and nutritionists, Fortitude Fitness opened its Northern HQ in 2017.
Each year the Fortitude Fitness team embark on a number of charitable events including; long distance runs, obstacle challenges, climbs and events that push the envelope of human endurance. This year alongside London we have fundraising teams in The Great North Run, Manchester Marathon & a range of other runs.
The London Marathon 2019 is one of our biggest fundraising opportunities and this year is being undertaken by one of our founders Tom Farquhar and a founding member of the Fortitude Family, Garry Broadbent. This will be Tom's second marathon and Garry's first, with training starting in November 2018. Garry’s only previous running experience was the Blackpool 10k in 2012 but he has always viewed the London Marathon as a must do event.
This year Garry has finally taken up the challenge and is training hard having completed the Trimple 20 mile race in Lancaster with Tom on the 17th March. With his 55th Birthday on the 31st March Garry has a respectable time and survival as joint marathon targets!
Our official charity partner is the Cystic Fibrosis trust and has been since our creation. One of our founders, Sam, has suffered with CF from birth and as part of the original creators of the Fortitude Fitness movement, Sam has inspired the Fortitude Fitness team, members and followers to follow his example of Fortitude.
The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the only charity in the UK fighting for a Life Unlimited by cystic fibrosis for the people who live with it, funding and supporting cutting-edge research to find new and better treatments, to improve the lives and experiences of those with CF.
As a family we have come together to focus all our charitable efforts on working with the Cystic Fibrosis trust to raise as much awareness and funding as possible and help fight this cruel disease.
Together we can make a vital difference and any support you can give the Fortitude Fitness team on a particular event or in our day to day fundraising will make a massive difference.
We couldn't do it without you, thank you for all your support.
